Alphabet Challenge: S
It’s obvious that with this letter, this would be the first group that would come to mind. I have loved SNSD for a long while now and I must admit this group is full of talented, well-breed and fun girls. My favorite member is Sooyoung, who I’m grateful to see is getting more attention. Taeyeon, Yuri Sooyoung, Seohyun, Tiffany and Jessica are all great singers whilst Yoona, Hyoyeon and Sooyoung are great dancers. Expertise acting abilities are also well known with Yoona and Sunny. This group is a range of great talents. Their years of training paid off. However, in recent times their live performance skills seemed to be diminishing. They make many vocal and choreography mistakes that doesn’t look well on the groups behalf. Hopefully these errors can be rectified soon. Some of my favorite songs from SNSD are ‘Oscar’, ‘I’m in Love with A Hero’, ‘Tell Me Your Wish’, ‘The Boys’, ‘Kissing You’ and ‘Star Star Star’.
Though I prefer the original line up of S/mileage with Saki, Dawa, Yuuka and Kanon I still admire S/mileage and their great energy. Now that the group has more members there is a greater variation of vocals, abilities and personalities- threes aspects that make a good group. Even though their name can be translated into the ‘Age of Smiles’ it’d be nice for them to release a more mature song like ‘Ama no Jaku’ and ‘Yume Miru no 15sai’. A person can get tired of hearing too many happy songs.
