Many Hello Project fans are eager for the announcement of the Morning Musume ’14’s Golden Auditions finalists, but it seems that fans have yet another thing to look forward to in the upcoming month.
Earlier this week on Hello Project Station, it was announced that S/mileage will be undergoing a name change and will be adding a third generation! First generation members, Fukuda Kanon and Wada Ayaka, recommended these changes. S/mileage’s new name will be chosen based on recommendations from the public. Third generation members will be chosen solely from Hello Pro Kenshuusei. The group’s new name and members will be announced on October 4th.
Ayaka and Kanon gave this announcement and informed their fellow members on Hello Project Station. They stated that they came up with these ideas in order to prevent the group from collapsing in the case that they graduate.
The 2nd generation members were in instant shock and tears upon hearing the news. Seeing them break down like this was heart-wrenching to me. This was very big news for them. According to their blog posts after the announcement, they stated that they were nervous, but happy to be senpais.
In my honest opinion, I believe that this only indicates that Ayaka and Kanon may be graduating from the group soon and are trying to take care and shape the group and their fellow members before they depart. As much as I would hate to see them go, S/mileage is a rotating group like Morning Musume, it is only inevitable that they graduate at some point.
As usual, I try to find the silver lining in this bad news. Although I am fearful for Kanon’s and Ayaka’s impending graduations, I am excited to see who the lucky 3rd Generation members will be and how they will contribute to the S/mileage image. I would really love to see Tanabe Nanami and Hamaura Ayano be added to the group. I believe that their voices and personalities would fit right in with the group!
I am not so happy with the fact that the group will be facing a name change, but I am very curious to see what the fans come up with. As I mentioned previously, the results will be announced on Saturday, October 4th. Until then Hello Project fans will have to wait yet again for the big news!
