S/mileage’s 3rd Generation Members Revealed!

3rd Generation

On October 4th, during S/mileage’s opening night for their musical “Smile Fantasy!” the members of the 3rd Generation were revealed.

The members chosen are as follows:

  • Murota Mizuki (16)
  • Aikawa Maho (15)
  • Sasaki Rikako (13)

As stated previously, all members were specially chosen from the Hello Pro Kenshuusei by Wada Ayaka and Fukuda Kanon.

The chosen girls expressed their excitement and anxiety to be part of the group and they all declared their love for S/mileage.

Personally, I am more or less really happy with this selection of girls. Although I would have also loved to see Hamaura Ayano and Tanabe Nanami as part of this selection and I would have preferred to see Rikako within Morning Musume, I am still confident these chosen girls will positively contribute to the group and diversify their image and personalities.

On the other hand, I still do not know much about Aikawa Maho and was quite shocked to see her debut so quickly. She recently joined Hello Pro Kenshuusei and has already made a debut in less than four months. I believe that Ayaka, Kanon and Tsunku saw the potential within her and decided to add her to the group. I will be keeping a watchful eye on her.

These girls will be joining the group and releasing a single within the year.

S/mileage has also opened a website where fans can suggest a new name for the group. The deadline for entries is October 30th, so get in your suggestions as soon as possible!
