When I first saw Yurina my first thought was: “Wow, she’s insanely tall”. It was strange seeing her tower over all the members not only in Berryz Kobo but also in Hello Project. It was hard to miss her. She never goes unnoticed thanks to her height. Her height is just one of the aspects that I admire about Yurina.

cha cha sing

Another aspect that I have grown to love (and sometimes hate) is her unique voice. I can never seem to find the right adjectives to describe her voice. Her voice is very distinctive- you can easily pick it out from a chorus of voices. I admired her voice because of its distinctiveness but sometimes it annoyed me especially during songs where all the members of the group sang together. Her characteristic voice usually breaks the unison of the chorus.

ousama game

One time where I really gathered interest in Yurina was for her lead role in the movie Ousama Game. Shamelessly, I would confess that I HATE horror movies because I get scared easily. Unlike many other fans, I was so afraid while watching that movie. However, I really liked the movie and actually plan on watching it again in the future. Yurina portrayed her character almost flawlessly. I forgot that she was Berryz Kobo’s Kumai Yurina and not Honda Chiemi. I really respected her acting ability. It took a lot of skills to portray that role and really delve into the character.

Yurina- Old to Young

Yurina plans to take a rest and complete university after Berryz Kobo’s hiatus. She then plans to enter the modeling industry. I am looking forward to seeing her as a model. She definitely has the potential to become a great one.
