Currently Watching Dramas (June 2015)

I sincerely apologize for the late update of last month’s “Currently Watching Dramas” post. Here is a list of dramas that I am currently watching:

Blood (2015)
Starring: Ahn Jae Hyun and Goo Hye Sun
Episodes seen: 5
Rating: 4.0
Notes: I am struggling to finish this drama. It is just not interesting to me. They have all the necessary elements to make this drama captivating: an emotional storyline, a dramatic soundtrack and nail-biting action. However, these elements have not been incorporated and expressed effectively. I usually feel worn out after watching one episode of this drama. I am very close to dropping this drama permanently.

Healer (2014)
Starring: Ji Chang Wook and Park Min Young
Episodes seen: 4
Rating: 5.0
Notes: This is another drama that I am struggling with, but not for the same reasons as Blood. This drama got so much hype and attention; I had high expectations for it. But after five episodes, my expectations have yet to be met. This is rather disappointing and discouraging. The plot is interesting but something about this whole series is lacking and I cannot quite put my finger on it just yet. This is another candidate for my “Dropped” list.

Hayate the Combat Butler (2011)
Starring: Hu George and Park Shin Hye
Episodes seen: 16
Rating: 7.9
Notes: Just like Itazura na Kiss 2~Love In Tokyo~, I am dragging out this drama because I do not want it to end. Not only is this show hilarious, but also it is filled with the right amount of romance and unpredictable events. Not to mention, I also have a huge crush on Hu George. I really have to watch more shows which he starred in.

The Producers (2015)
Starring: Kim Soo Hyun and Gong Hyo Jin
Episodes seen: 9
Rating: 7.5
Notes: I still prefer the original format of the drama, but nevertheless, this drama has been entertaining. The concept is all new to me. It is great to see a show break out of the predictable nature of Korean dramas. This drama goes to show that the lead female does not always have to be a “damsel in distress” or the lead male being a “heroic” figure.

Secret Garden (2010)
Starring: Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won
Episodes seen: 2
Rating: N/A
Notes: Yes, I know that I am over five years late with this drama. Although this was a popular drama at the time, I had no desire to watch it. Now that the hype has died down I decided to give this drama a shot. One incentive to watching this drama at such a late stage is that I do not have to wait for new episodes each week.

Orange Marmalade (2015)
Starring: Yeo Jin Goo and Seol Hyun
Episodes seen: 1
Rating: N/A
Notes: My friend advised me not to watch this drama because it gets emotional at the beginning of the series. My rebellious spirit did not listen and I started this drama yesterday. I have only seen one episode so far and I have no complaints so far.
