There was a big announcement during Hello Project’s Summer Concert Tour. Hello Project Kenshuusei, Kasahara Momona, has been added to ANGERME as a 5th Generation member!
This came as a big shock to everyone, especially me. Tamura Meimi graduated a month or two ago, and no auditions for a new member were announced. I assumed that ANGERME would continue on as a group of eight. However, this does not seem to be the case since Momona was added to the group as a surprise.
It almost seems like there is a rotation on how members are chosen for this group.
The members of the first generation were selected from Hello Pro Eggs.
Even though there were some members that were in Hello Pro Kenshuusei, they all went through an audition. Nakanishi Kana and Tamura Meimi were new to Hello Project.
The third generation members were all selected from Hello Pro Kenshuusei.
The fourth generation was selected through an audition.
And finally, the newly formed fifth generation was selected from Hello Pro Kenshuusei.
I can only expect an audition for the sixth generation of the group.
Momona was the winner of the public vote along with Kiyono Momohime at this year’s Kenshuusei test event. I only saw a minute or less of her performance, but I was very impressed. She seems to be a great singer, and from what I read in her profile, she is versed in ballet. She seems to have a lot of potential to be a great idol. I look forward to seeing what she brings to the group.
Congratulations on your debut, Momona!
