2016 Hello! Project Rankings

logo2017

As always, Hello Project had a dynamic year. There were many departures and additions to the company. There were many great singles this year. On the other hand, there were some singles that were not so successful. Personally, this year was a much better year for Hello Project in comparison to last year.

I looked back at the releases from each group this year and have ranked their songs from major singles, music videos and outfits. You can see my ranking below. I have also made an overall list of my ranking of all the major releases from Hello Project this year. You can view this list here.

C-ute

nov-2016

C-ute announced their disbandment earlier this year. I had high expectations for their last few singles and I was highly impressed. They tried new styles and genres of music and completely nailed it! I really hope that “Mugen Climax/Ai wa Maru De Seidenki/ Singing ~Ano Koro no you ni~” was not their last single.

Morning Musume ‘16

2016

Morning Musume ’16 lost a gem (Suzuki Kanon) this year but gained two more, Kaga Kaede and Yokoyama Reina. Regardless, this has been a great year for Morning Musume ’16. Almost all of their music videos and songs were of high quality, which translated into good sales.

ANGERME

ANGERME lost Tamura Meimi and gained Kasahara Momona. I believe that this has been one of the group’s best years for comebacks. They released amazing songs that I love and their sales were high. I look forward to a new year with ANGERME.

Juice=Juice

A

I was a bit disappointed with Juice=Juice this year. I did not like their first single of the year and the music videos for the second single came up short. I will not give up hope for 2017, though!

Country Girls

sep-2016

Unfortunately, Country Girls lost one of their most popular vocalists, Inaba Manaka. However, that did not hamper their flow and success. Their singles have been pretty good this year. I look forward to seeing what is in store next year for this group, especially with the upcoming graduation of Playing Manager, Tsugunaga Momoko.
