A few years ago, I posted a list of my most played JPOP songs. It has been a long time, and since then more music has been released. My tastes have also changed, and I reset the play counts of all my music several times. However, one thing remains constant. My mood is the most significant influence on what music I listen to at the time.
Check out the updated list of my top 10 most played JPOP songs!
10. Ordinary Girls by Happiness (47 times)
This is one of my favourite Japanese hype songs. When I want to get energetic (or feel badass), I just listen to this song. I really hope that Happiness releases more great music like this soon! It has been a while since we have heard from them!
9. Ai! Yai Yai! by Eric Fukusaki (51 times)
I have a massive crush on this guy. He is so talented, and his voice just makes me melt. I love that he promotes his Peruvian origins and incorporates them into his music. His music is different from what you would hear in the mainstream JPOP industry. This song is fun, festive, and easy to sing along to.
8. Surrender by FAKY (59 times)
This is one of my favourite Japanese songs of all time. It starts off slow, then builds up to a popping hip-hop track. Although it is a slower song, it is still a song that I play to give myself some energy.
7. Koi by Gen Hoshino (61 times)
This song was popular in 2016, but it is still one of my favourite JPOP songs. It puts me in a dancing mood! It is one of those “feel-good” songs.
6. Re:play by Daichi Miura (61 times)
I used to listen to this song at least once a day for a couple of weeks. This was around the time when I started paying attention to more of Daichi’s music. I fell in love with his smooth moves and R&B sound.
5. Suga Sweet by FAKY (62 times)
This is another one of my favourite tracks by FAKY. This group keeps releasing hit after hit! This song has an upbeat sound that is perfect for summer. It is a song that I listen to when I feel playful, which is apparently a lot.
4. Orion by Yonezu Kenshi (65 times)
This song makes me feel magical. Almost all of Kenshi’s songs transport me to a different place, but this song holds a special place in my heart since it was the first song I heard from him. I listen to this song when I want to escape from my current struggles for a bit.
3. Crystal Snow by BTS (65 times)
Yes, BTS made it on the JPOP list. This song tugs at my hearts and makes me feel like I am in a fairy tale. Jimin’s voice in this song sends shivers down my spine. BTS can dominate not only the KPOP world but the JPOP one as well.
2. Ashita E by Little Glee Monster (71 times)
I love this song so much. It is the song that made me fall in love with this group and appreciate their powerful vocal skills. I know all the words to this song, and I always sing along when I hear it. Too bad I do not have the same vocal ability of the members of Little Glee Monster, so I am off key.
1. Candy by FAKY (140 times)
This is a significant jump in play count from the second song. I listened to this song several times a day, and I still have not gotten tired of it. This is a song that I listen to on many occasions like when I am happy, when I need to get pumped up, or when just in the mood to listen to Lil’ Fang’s high note. This is why the play count is so high.
That concludes my list of top most played Japanese songs! Please look forward to my lists for most played Chinese and English songs. I already created a list of my most played Korean songs. You can check it out here.
