Name: Ahn Hyo Jin
Birth date: 10/12/91 (dd/mm/yr)
Origin: Chungcheong, South Korea
Group: EXID
Position: Main Rapper, Lead Dancer

EXID is one of my favorite KPOP rookie groups and I never noticed how talented LE is until the release of their song I Feel Good. I recently found out she was an underground rapper under the name of Elly. I’m now beginning to gain special interest in her 🙂

Name: Michishige Sayumi
Birth date: 13/07/89 (dd/mm/yr)
Origin: Yamaguchi, Japan
Group: Morning Musume
Position:  Leader

I love the charisma and cuteness this girl has! She is a good leader- not my favorite- but she is good otherwise.

Name:  Kwon Ji Yong
Birth date: 18/08/88 (dd/mm/yr)
Origin: Seoul, South Korea
Group: Big Bang
Position:  Leader

I love GD for his individuality, uniqueness and great talents! He is an excellent rapper and performer. He is also one of the most fashionable idols in my opinion. I believe that he personifies greatness and is the ideal person to help make a positive impact on the Hallyu Wave and the introduction of KPOP in international waters.  His skills have been proven with the latest release of the music video One of a Kind!

Excellent Future Leaders of Hello Project (In My Opinion)

Kudo Haruka

In performances and even on their Ustream shows you can see Haruka’s charisma and maturity. I often forget that she is the youngest member of Morning Musume! I believe that these great strong qualities that she possesses will make her an effective leader.

Ikuta Erina

Erippon has greatly improved! I am very proud to see how far she has come and I am very curious to see how further she will go. Her improvement, growing maturity and determination will make her a great leader.

Takeuchi Akari

I love Akari and her cool aura! She puts on a bright smile and has such an inviting personality. She is also good at what she does. Her wonderful personality will be a great feature as a leader because I believe she will channel her personality to something positive that will encourage and guide those members she may lead in the future.

Tamura Meimi

Meimi has such an adorable character. She also displays a high level of professionalism on camera and when performing. This is an important attribute not only for a leader but for an idol overall and though she may not be my favorite Hello Project member I do respect her for hard work.

Sayashi Riho

Riho may not be the best singer but it is certain that she is improving. She has been already been given a lead role as the main vocalist of Morning Musume and through this main role I believe that she is gaining a lot of experience in which she will be able to relay to future members.

Suki yo, Junjou Hankouki Review

S/mileage released their 11th single Suki yo, Junjou Hankouki and I must say it was a complete 180° turn from their last single Dot Bikini. There wasn’t only a change in concept and melody but also in line distribution. I was overjoyed to hear Rina’s beautiful voice and it made me wonder why she didn’t get many lines in the first place.

The melody of a song was much more mature than their previous singles and it was great to hear something different than their usual happy and bubbly songs. I have been asking Tsunku (mentally) to let S/mileage release a single like this since last year and I finally got my wish!

The song has an electronic and upbeat melody that depicts a serious atmosphere. It sounds like a typical Hello Project song but it is a concept and tune not visited by S/mileage quite often making it an interesting release by this group. The solemn atmosphere, low lighting in the main setting and the non-smiling expressions of the girls almost personify the lyrics of the girls describing their rebellious love of their crush and the sacrifices they make for him.

Can we all see how greatly Kana improved? I bet we can all recall the difficulties she faced learning the choreography for their 9th single Please Miniskirt Postwoman. In this video, no flaws can be found as she dances. Her singing has also greatly improved. It was nice to hear her voice as well.

Can I make a comment and state how I love S/mileage’s concept when it comes to the outfits for each single? With each outfit, they wear you can see the S/mileage signature of the short skirts and S/mileage logo. I love how the colours of their clothes and the typical elements of their outfits blended well with the video setting. I’m excited to see what they will wear for their next single.

S/mileage has highly impressed me for this single by displaying their mature side. Hopefully, I will enjoy the next single just as much. Who knows, maybe they will release a ballad?

30 Day Idol Challenge (Day 29)

Day 29: Your favorite Morning Musume Leader?

Takahashi Ai is and will always be my favorite Momusu leader. Not only because she’s my absolute favorite member (Ok, it’s mostly because of that) but she has a lot of charisma, she is fun, she is a talented singer and actress and she had a great relationship with all the members. I miss her terribly and I don’t believe there will be another leader like her.

Erina Mano to Graduate From Hello Project

That’s right, you read the title accurately. It is what it seems. Recently, Hello Project and Mano released official statements concerning her graduation in February 2013.

When I heard this news my initial and true reaction was anger. Thoughts raced through my head, I angrily paced the room in disbelief. To me, it seemed that all of my favourite members were disappearing one by one: Junjun, Linlin, Eri, Saki, Yuuka, Ai-chan, Risa and now Mano-chan was leaving.

Why are there so many graduations?  Would Hello Project be an organisation full of young and inexperienced rookies?  As more experienced and even in some cases, more talented senior members leave the organisation newer members will have to work twice as hard to improve and gain the skills to keep Hello Project at the top and preserve the quality of great entertainment.

Though I was angered, confused and in despair, as I read through Erina’s official statement my anger began to subside little by little and I began to see that what they spoke of was true.  Mano-chan has greatly improved since her introduction into Hello Project and solo debut a few years later. I believe she has the skills, talents and experience to effectively make it out there on her own in the entertainment industry.

I say ‘entertainment industry’ and not ‘music industry’ because Mano Erina is not only good at singing but has also proven to be an exceptional actress. She starred in numerous movies, stage plays and even visited film festivals outside of Japan. Her musical talents are also at an advantage because of her great piano-playing skills.

I confess that initially Mano was not one of my favourites in Hello Project but with time I grew to love her and her music equally. After she graduates it will feel like Hello Project will have this large hole without their main soloist. With her departure will there be anyone else to take on her role?

With all these changes within Hello Project, they will be facing a complete transformation. The question is if these changes are for the worst or the best and what about the fans? With the loss of all the big names in H!P will they be departing as well?

But focusing on the positive side of things, it is great to see Erina embark on this new journey in life. I wish her all the best in future ambitions and I hope to hear from her often after graduation. Who knows, maybe she started playing her piano for her fans once more?

30 Day Idol Challenge (Day 28)

Day 28: Idol the brings to you special memories of something or somebody?

Kanon reminds me of myself sometimes. She tries her best to improve herself and be the best she can be. That reminds me of when I set the goal of being the best I can be in obtaining my goals.

Alphabet Challenge: Z

I won’t say that I am HUGE fans of ZE:A but I do like a couple of their songs. Regarding members, I’m only familiar with names but not faces. Their current comeback “Aftermath” is a great song but didn’t impress me or encourage me to like the group more.

I love the original ZYX and even ZYX-α. Their songs are catchy, fun and the line up of members are so diverse created unique sounds and vocal variety.
